My first dressage horse.

In 1981 I was twenty-seven and my riding aspirations continued to grow. Ted and Levada Morgan approached me with an offer to run the training program at their farm. The enticement was their horses and a sponsorship. After seven years at Hob Nob Hill I left and became the instructor at South Forty Acres.

The horse presented to me for dressage was Four Winds. He was a chestnut, Trakhener Gelding related to Jessica Ransehausen's Fair Lad. Hunter/Jumpers were still my competitive mainstay but Four Winds allowed me to begin showing Third level dressage. He was originally purchased as an event prospect and came with a wicked tendency to spook. When calm he allowed me to concentrate on developing lateral movements. More often his jumping talent would emerge after a shy in the show ring and we would depart the arena over the chains!
